7 months…and 2 weeks

I’m fairly late in sharing Naomi’s 7 month post, mainly because she has been keeping me BUSY!! This past month was such a blur with flying to Vegas for a conference, Thanksgiving, my husband traveling multiple times for work and family…it’s just been a full season of life. And I’m loving it! I may be more tired than I ever dreamed possible, but my heart is more full than I could have ever imagined.

Now let me see…during her 7th month of life (and then some) what were some highlights?

Dear Naomi,

Your daddy and I often marvel at how after you hit 6 months, you’ve hit milestone after milestone and developed quite the personality. You love to laugh, talk, dance, wave at everyone (and everything) and just observe everything that is happening around you. I love watching you play in your pack’n’play or on the floor with your stacking cups and crinkly bear. You often look over to me with eyes filled with wonder and joy, as if you’re saying, “This is so awesome mom! Look what I can do!”.

You’re almost ready to crawl. You’ve mastered the art of scooting around on the floor, so I can never just leave you and know that you’ll stay put.  You can get up on your hands and knees, but you’re not quite ready to move. I thought that I’d be sad when the day came when you started moving on your own, but I’ve actually found it so exciting. I love watching you grow and witnessing how God created our bodies to slowly transform from teeny tiny newborns to moving and independent adults. The nerd in me is loving watching your brain make connections with how to connect with the outside world.

A tooth finally came through on Saturday, November 29th! That week was a doozy for sleep for the both of us! Your other bottom tooth is starting to make is way through now too, so I’m preparing for another sleepless week.

We introduced solids this month as well and I think you love it. We are going slow with the food introduction, but so far you love avocados and pears! Again, another thing I thought I’d be sad about introducing because it meant that breastmilk wasn’t your only source of food, but when the time came to introduce solids, it was a joy to watch you experience this new thing.

This month you and I took yet another plane ride! We went to Las Vegas with Miss Katie for a women’s conference. We both experienced a first walking down The Stripe.

We celebrated your first Thanksgiving with your Grandma & Grandpa Wood and Aunt Alison. We had a wonderful, relaxing few days with them and we even went back up the mountain to explore Mt. Lemmon and get a little break from the warm weather. We had much to be thankful for this year!

IMG_0950 IMG_0963Last week, you had to put up with only having mommy 24/7 as daddy was away for a work trip. I’d say we did a pretty good job of hanging out together. We went on a few play dates and enjoyed lots of cuddles. We were sure happy to have daddy home though!

In just a few short weeks, we’ll be celebrating your 8th month of life and I really can’t believe that we are now closer to your first birthday. Being your mommy is such a joy and I can’t wait to experience more life with you as you grow!
